Five Things: Only lovers left alive

// I love movies. I like the stories they tell. I like the characters. I like the way films make me feel. I like the cinematography. I like the bond between the movie and its music. This is why I want to share with you some of my favorite movies. I hope you'll enjoy the series. //

Only Lovers Left Alive - Directed by Jim Jarmusch

  1. The beautiful intimacy between the main characters. It's the intimacy you have after spending hundreds of years with someone.
  2. Tom Hiddleston
  3. The music. Especially Can't hardly stand it by Charlie Feathers.
  4. The dialogue - the words are carefully chosen and they flow so naturally between the main characters.
  5. It's a movie with vampires, not a vampire movie. The vampire theme is there just to establish a background for the characters. The main focus goes to simple, mundane things, and this makes it such a beautiful film.

I left the cinema with that feeling only a beautiful movie leaves you with and a little more melancholic, for I am, after all, a romantic.

Hugs,
Anca

  1. I love how you write about the movie! Please make it a permanent series, bi-monthly if not weekly, because you always have such lovely movie-recommendations. And it's the exact info I'd like to have before I go and watch a film: no spoilers, just a feeling of it all!
