I love wall displays framed in embroidery hoops! I find them absolutely lovely and whimsical. Knowing this, it will come as no surprise that I had to try to make the embroidery hoop picture frame projects from Ruche.
If you want to try this project, you’ll need: embroidery hoop, pretty fabric that you like, scissors, twine and other pretty embellishments (I used lace, of course!).
Cut a piece of fabric, about 2 cm larger than the hoop and then fix it on the embroidery hoop. Make the corners you’ll use to hold in place the photo. I cut the fabric in eight places with sharp scissors and used the twine to make the corners, on the back of the hoop. The frame is now ready for you favorite photo. I used an illustration specially made for me and my hubby, for our wedding, by Cristina Sunshine - a very dear and talented friend.
I added a little lace on the bottom of the photo, using glue for fabrics. I guess it would have been better to fix the lace in the hoop, but I decided on the lace after the hoop was already closed.
A wall display with lots of these embroidery hoops, in different sizes, would look great, don’t you think?
